NoBACZ is developing its first liquid bandage specifically for dairy and beef cattle. Existing products are often insufficient for veterinary wound production in these contexts, resulting in infection and illness.

Company Details
Company: NoBACZ
Sector: Animal Health
Location: Cambridge, UK
Target Markets: UK, Europe
Unique Selling Points
- NoBACZ core invention is based on a natural bio-adhesive polymer (shellac) mixed with different metals (copper, zinc, silver, iodine, etc.) reputed to have antimicrobial activities
- Manufacturing the polymer is not-resource intensive and it is made of safe and inexpensive ingredients. It degrades itself, thus does not generate waste
- The bandage is easy to apply: once on the skin lesion, polymerization is actuated by a spray of water, and then ensures a solid barrier protection of the wound for 3-4 days before it degrades completely
Achievements
NoBACZ is a spin-off from Cambridge University. It was awarded a prestigious Innovate UK grant.
