- Enables the livestock farmer to produce cost competitive, high quality nitrogen fertiliser from slurry, air and renewable energy, directly on the farm.
- It reduces ammonia emissions and removes the odor from the nitrogen enriched fertilizer product. The farmer will complement and may eventually substitute traditional industrial fertilizer.
- Plasma treatment of liquid organic substrate is a new method for reducing ammonia and GHG emissions while simultaneously increasing the nitrogen content of organic waste, such as livestock slurry or digestate.
Achievements
In October 2021, N2 Applied raised €15 million of funding from the European Investment Council (EIC). This comes in addition to grant financing received in 2020, which brings the total amount up to €17.5 million.
They have conducted the UK’s first trial of a breakthrough technology that eliminates harmful emissions and enriches the nutrient content of livestock manure, offering a substantial step forward for the dairy food industry as it pursues net-zero targets.
In March 2022, N2 Applied and Aarhus University signed an agreement to install and assess N2 Applied’s technology on the AU Foulum Biogas plant in Denmark.
